Its another Monday and once again it must be time for the Hooniverse Classic Caption Contest. This is the feature in which I find images throughout the web that the car companies have used in their advertisements and brochures. It’s your job to come up with a humorous or snarky caption that fits the image. The editors at Hooniverse have seen an increase in readership, and I think its time that you show us what you got, and come up with a great comment to this weeks picture. This week you are all playing for a Hartford Freightliner Baseball Cap that I received from somewhere (Can’t seem to recall where though…)
Last weeks image was of a Tennis Club, and most of the comments were rather humorous. Devin was once again in the running with this comment: “Alas, the only love Gary would find would be in his score“. Since Devin won last week, I unilaterally decided to award the prize to another participant (Sorry Devin). This week that would be Number_Six, who left us with this comment: “The flashy exterior hid a rather flaccid set of underpinnings, thought Betty. She also wondered what could induce someone to buy a Monarch.“
Congratulations Number_Six on winning the Cap. Send me an e-mail telling me where to send it.
It’s now time to take a look at this weeks illustration. It is an advertising image for the BMW Isetta. There is a good looking young couple with their daughter sitting inside this diminutive little car. Ah the late 50s… not a seat belt to be found, in a car that is about as safe as Paper Mache. This is a great vintage image, so if you have yet to participate, why not come up with a great caption. (You can click on the image to see it full sized)
You have the next five days to come up with a great caption. The editors will then read every single caption and award the prize for the best one. This is the week to see how your mind really works.
