Shakespeare is famously quoted for the admonition, from Hamlet,  neither a borrower nor a lender be, for loan oft loses both itself and friend, and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry. He’s also coined the phrase ‘dat ass’ and invented the beer bong. But sometimes people are faced with having to loan their car to a careless friend, or are the victim of hit and run, and probably the last thing on their mind is the Bard.

First off, having anything happen to your pride and joy is suckage on par with a kick in the plums, but to have it happen outside of your control only makes matters worse. There’s something disempowering about damage to your car that is out of your control, but as most all of us have been there, we feel your pain. 

They say community provides catharsis, so if you are presently harboring an animosity of any significance over something someone else has done to your car – whether it was a friend or anonymous stranger – maybe it would help to get it off your chest, put it on the table and then move on as it were.
