Hooniverse Asks- What Car or Truck Models Need To Die This Year?

Here’s a shocker for you, we’re only about two weeks away from being able to call the first quarter of 2012 history. That’s three months down, only eight and a half to go before you’re forced to spend the holidays with your relatives again. Sorry for being a Debbie Downer. Much like those annoying relatives, there are certain cars and trucks still sullying dealer lots that you’d probably like to see gone – vehicles that need to die.

At the L.A. International Auto Show last November I was amazed to learn that the Subaru Tribeca continued to get not only a ticket to the show, but was still being offered to an apparently indifferent buying public. I mean, who buys these things? Other vehicles whose continued existence I consider equally baffling include the VW EOS, Nissan Maxima, Chevy Impala, Honda Crosstour, and the vast majority of Acura’s lineup – I mean seriously, the ZDX should come with a government warning label for fug.

Cars come and go – and with the economy dragging many car companies down the crapper for the past four years straight there were a lot more going than coming. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few left over that could stand to be flushed. So, considering how time is running out on us, what cars or trucks do you think should call 2012 their final model year?
