Hot off our Tatra V8-powered presses comes the newest Hoonicast, chock full o’ vitamins, minerals, and rambling stories. Pull up a chair and listen, won’t ya? This week we discuss our salt flat racer fantasies, the cars we learned to drive on, why moon hubcaps make any car better, and the mystique of work trucks. Hop on past the jump to listen.

As always, here’s the cheat sheet providing links to some of the things we discuss in the post:
1. The video of the Darracq 25L crushing it around a track:

2. The Old Crow bellytanker
Be on the lookout the week after next for another Hoonicast!

No comments, after all this time? Well, Alex, I guess they don't love us anymore.

We're just reflecting on all that was said.
For what it's worth, my current lakes/salt flats car idea is an H-body Buick Skyhawk with one of the old stock block Buick Indycar V6s underhood. And I know just where I can get one one of those lumps (Yeah it's $60k, but they'll throw in a '92 Lola for free!): http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/displaycar.php?…

I just haven't had another uninterruptible hour for this one yet. The first five were well worth it.

    Just listened to it.
It's not 58 toggle switches, but I do find that whenever I have to drive a gas car I turn the key to ACC, check my watch, fiddle with the radio, and just generally wait for maybe 30 seconds until I remember that they don't have glow plugs.
Also, could we get a visual aid for that crazy Rambler pedal setup?

It was pretty standard-issue at the time on the "lower end" cars, but I'll see what I can find!

I'm really sorry I wasn't in on this one. I didn't get to share my salt flats fantasy…

You weren't really going to run that ride height, were you?

      What? Your sponsor isn't Hooniverse?

"Sponsor" would imply somebody with money.

Or at least somebody with stickers. And I think we do have stickers!

And it begs the question of why they didn't use the V10 in the GT.
