Here’s a 1985 Pajero Factory Dakar racer for sale and I want it badly

I need to own this so badly it physically hurts me. What you’re looking at is an ex-factory Mitsubishi racer from 1985. This is a Pajero born to battle the Dakar rally. And it’s also for sale.

The listing is short on details. If you want to know more you’re going to have to email the seller. But what it does say is that this Pajero is an ex-Dakar racer built to boogie. The body is a shell that houses a focused interior packing the original Gen 1 Montero gauge cluster, a racing seat, and an oversized FIA-approved fuel tank.

Though it has just 28,000 kilometers on the odometer, you can rest assured those were brutal kilometers. Regardless, this thing is awesome. And the (approximately) $26,000 asking price doesn’t feel crazy. It’s a ton of money for a used racing Pajero, but this one looks rather clean overall. I’d love to know more about it and see a ton more pictures.

Regardless, I want it… here’s the link to the listing if you want it too.

Nice of them to leave it in white so the livery can go right back on it.

Same thought, haha. Though just to mess with people it would be fun to switch the livery to Canon or Sony

It’s astonishing how anonymous it looks without race livery. Also the general shape and proportions look a lot like a boxier Bowler off road racer (Range Rover/Defender based)
