ARX 2019 season calendar

ARX unveils its 2019 race calendar

The Americas Rallycross debuted in 2018. A handful of reasons gave everyone a peak at the series set to replace the GRC series. Now ARX is back for 2019, and the ripping, flying, sliding, bashing rally cross race series is ready to party at five different venues throughout North America.

The season kicks off at Mid-Ohio, which marks the first time ARX has been held there. Round One gets underway on June 8th. Shortly after, ARX treks to Gateway for both the second and third rounds of racing.

A quick jump up north to Trois-Rivières brings ARX action to our Canadian motorsport-loving friends. The series then heads down south to Texas. The Circuit of the Americas is the home of round four, and a great course was already on display for ARX racing during the inaugural 2018 season. This year should be equally as action packed.

It all comes to a head during round six in October. The series returns to Mid-Ohio for the final battle. The main event is the ARX Supercar series, but there’s also an ARX2 support series that features spec machines and young drivers competing at full tilt.

Scott Speed returns to defend his 2018 championship, but he’s doing so at the helm of a different machine. Speed is making the jump from Volkswagen over to Subaru and a WRX STI prepped for ARX duty. Subaru is bringing out the blue and gold rally livery, which will be awesome to see out on the course. And should be good to give Speed the, uh, speed he needs for a proper title defense.

Looks like I’ll be spending even more time at Mid-O this year.

It’s ridiculous that Mid Ohio is only 1:30 away, and I’ve still never been. Going to try to talk my neighbor buddy into going this year.

I’ve lived in Columbus since 1996 (and in Ohio all but about 4 years of my life) and I’ve been to only 2 races. One back in elementary school that I barely remember (Champion Spark Plug Challenge) and one a few years ago. It was a great time, I really should try to get to one of those ARX events.
