Quick and dirty Ford GT primer

The Ford GT is an awesome car and since I know for a fact that we have exactly two millions of hardcore Ford GT fans that visit this little website The Greatest Page In The Hooniverse, I figured I would sniff around for some footage to show how much I care.  This video that I found has a little bit of everything in it.  Vintage footage of the GT40 from Le Mans, side-by-side comparisons of old vs. new, a quick documentary on how the new GT was designed and even some in-car race footage complete with heel-toe-vision.

Surprise! I'd really like to try another 50 to see if we can chase storms successfully here. It really does work very well if you view by last activity all reply to the topmost commentator, in this case you Skay! Not only is it an appropriate post, but you should get emails 😉 SO EVERYONE PLEASE REPLY TO THE TOP SKAYCOG POST, WHERE SHE ASKS JO SCHMO TO GO STEADY WITH HER AGAIN AND NUMBER THEM. (Sorry to shout.)
It was a very busy day for me, that's why I am only now here. I made at least 10 versions of those catapults, in the end I had two that worked well. Aga did not tell me that she was calling the other mom to come and pick them up at 9:30, about 9:10 I had disassembled the lesser of the two, and then it was a mad dash to duplicated the best one, phew!
I don't know where BB got that great oil painting from, it's my current desktop, but here it eh link if you want it: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/comment/12/… I did some poor-a$$ google-fu and failed, but I found this which some here might like:

Hi Everyone,
Phew I hope I did not miss anyone last place… Anyway, that's another reason to all reply to just one topmost comment, then whoever finds another months old post to use only has to make one comment to notify everyone. Those that want to get email notifications can "Subscribe to All new comments" in the drop-down, anyone else can just check-in whenever. We should change every fifty or so not so much for tradition but because yours truly here has a really slow computer and once a post crosses 100 or so comments it gets all slow and extra clicky to read for me.
Have a good one,

If we all reply to my first comment, then we HAVE to put the name of who we're talking to, right? It got so mixed up last time, because we were all answering each other and then said the heck with the numbers. I'd just sit here and laugh. Let's give it a whirl!

Hello Skaycog! Today I took my best friend and the RCZ to Germany to drive on the Autobahn! It was awesome. My friend actually shot a video with his Iphone. It's not very exciting to see, but still. The RCZ maxxed out at 240 km/h (that's almost 150 mph)! Yeehaa!!!

Don't worry about it! I have a funny picture from last night, but it's harder to upload pics for here (I'll try later again), so yeah nothing's perfect. But last I checked over there it did not show who you were replying to and I could not see even in my profile if anyone had replied. All that took a few minutes too, sheesh. The ">poof!<" trick only seems to work about half the time for me. That's why I always do ^A, ^X, ^V right before I click on Submit Comment. Then if it goes missing, I can click Reply and then ^V and try once more.
Michelle's math was super fun last night. The question was using only , -, addition, division, parens and four 3s per equation write the numbers 0, 1, …, 9, 10.
(((3 + 3) – 3) – 3) = 0
(((3 + 3) – 3) / 3) = 1
(((3 * 3) – 3) / 3) = 2
(((3 + 3) + 3) / 3) = 3
(((3 * 3) + 3) / 3) = 4
(((3 + 3) / 3) + 3) = 5
(((3 + 3) + 3) – 3) = 6
(((3 / 3) + 3) + 3) = 7
((3 * 3) – (3 / 3)) = 8
(((3 + 3) – 3) * 3) = 9
((3 * 3) + (3 / 3)) = 10

The cold is kind of a bummer. A friend and I once imagined a world with warm snow. You get the benefits of slipperiness (hoonability) and prettiness but all while its warm. You could snowboard like a surfer in swimtrunks and not get frostbite! The possibilities go on…

Dear Tower,
Don't worry about the last 50, it all got confusing back there. You noticed the comment by Dearthair (WOW!) which was the best one anyway. I tried and reply to everyone back there to come over here now. Things are going much better here. Did you pick-up on the "Subscribe to All new comments" trick? Even though I select that I end-up just checking in when ever.
You must have been excited yesterday, congrats to GB! Yesterday we went to the bark park instead of watch football. Well not quite. Aga got stuck in the parking lot, so then I was able to rock it out with the traction control disabled, phew. I parked by the street and we just went into the tennis courts. Then we all had a great time. Later we washed and groomed Max. Man was he tired that night! But he really loves to run around in snow so he was happy.
We don't get to make a snow fort every year, conditions have to be right. What I do though is pile-up the snow or just let it naturally, then we dig the holes out. Is that how you made yours?

I haven't used the subscribe trick yet. I'll have to try it out. Right now I'm just trying to check in a few times a day when I get a chance.
The SuperBowl was indeed fun, more so because of the social aspect and excitement of the party than the game itself.
My parents house where I grew up was on a hilltop in the country which allowed for unobstructed winds to tear through our yard. These winds would build up large drifts over the winter and my siblings and I would dig tunnels into those drifts to make snowforts. This last snowstorm though resulted in the biggest drifts I have seen at my parents house. The southwest corner has a continuous drift from the ground onto the roof and the largest drift I have ever seen in the backyard! It almost made me want to go and try digging forts again!
I read your comment to $kaycog too and am curious about the Hendrix and your scout master story! I don't think I've heard it. If it's long you can just direct me to where you posted it so you don't have to retype.

Dear Skaycog,
Rooting for whoever regardless of what is still fun. What was yours? Did some team have a tight end or something? Wait what now? Yesterday after getting back from the snow and eating I helped kids with more homework, Aga took a nap, and I did a little American Idol contest with the kids in the basement. Then we watched AFV.
From the game we watched the songs before the game and the half time show. The halftime show made it obvious how much computers help modern musicians. I have heard good things about Fergie being a good person that surmounted a lot in her personal life, so it bugs me to hear people complaining this morning. Also people are so negative about Christina Aguilera and her rendition of the anthem. People are just so bitchy. They should try and stand there in those shoes (seriously, did you see the shoes, wow were they ever awesome!), sing in front of so many people (bother there and on TV), and time it right for the flyover. Nobody's perfect. Anyway, did I ever tell the story about Jimmy Hendrix and my scout master? I think I may have and don't like to repeat myself.
One more funny thing and back to work for me: Aga went to get gas for the snow blower yesterday. She forgot to close the jerry can. There was a quarter gallon spilled in the back. It still stinks, but the best part was Michelle saying, "Your old car doesn't smell as bad as this dad!"
Sincerely,

I'm a real fan of artistic reinterpretations of The Star Spangled Banner. My favorite is the one by The Dixie Chicks from before another Super Bowl. It's fitting that it's by them, considering all the backlash they faced due to them speaking their minds. Until the US gets more messed-up, that's what you get to do here after all.

Anyway I realized all that in a Dodge extended van one summer much like the one pictured with Skaycog or her doppleganger I am sure. Back then CDs were very uncommon and I made mix tapes from records, 8-tracks, and cassettes. My boy scout troop was sending the venture scouts out on a trip to Colorado. It ranks up there as one of my favorite two scout trips, probably my favorite with NY second. In any case I made a special mix tape for that trip which I was really excited about.
I was not a very popular kid, it was very special to get to sit up in the front since you got to chose the music. Kids had music like Poison, not great stuff with the lens of time we have now. So my turn came-up after a long time (that van seated like 13) in some boring flat land with straight roads. Most of the other kids were napping in the back while I played my mix tape and chatted with the scout master driving.

This guy was older, very religious, conservative, and did not like rock and roll very much. I had some nice songs on there, like some Czerwone Gitary which he rather liked, so we got off on a good foot right from the bat.

My dad had this awesome Jimmy Hendrix bootleg and it had a version of the anthem much like the one from Woodstock. I put it on the mix tape. When it started playing the scout master said, "What's that!?" I answered, "Jimmy Hendrix." I thought he was going to turn it off, like it had offended him, but instead he turned it up.

During the song she started crying. I asked if I should stop it, he shook his head. After the song I apologized for the song. I thought he had been upset about a rock version messing with the anthem. Instead he said, "No it's not like that at all. You may not know this, but I had a brother. He died in Vietnam and I miss him very much. He died so that fuck-ups like that could make the music that they do. Mike, I don't usually like rock music, but that song was beautiful. What my brother died fighting for, Mr. Hendrix must have loved that about America as well."
During that trip I spent a lot of time listening to that scout master's stories. He taught me how to gut, clean, and cook the trout that I caught. I liked that time very much, like I said it ranks right-up there for me as trips like these went. On the way home we stopped at the apartment of an older brother of one of the scouts for the night. Some boys made a mix tape of all the 'best' rock songs back then. We listened to it on the rest of the way home. In the parking lot waiting for my parents to come and get me, one of the sons of that scout master come over and said, "I thought you should have this." And he handed me that mix tape the other boys had made.
Sincerely,

That was a great story! One of my favorite renditions is by the group Boston (which I'm sure was inspired by Hendrix).

Dear Tower,
That does rock! Only way to make that better: CAMAROS! Seriously now, it was very good. One of my first 8-tracks was Boston's Boston album, great band. Later I learned that the guitarist was a really sharp guy. I think he went to MIT for a while. He studied physics, astro, and electrical engineering if I recall correctly. Back when he was a kid he did not have enough money for all the rock gear he wanted, so he started making his own. That Boston sound ended-pu being to the pick-ups and amps he made. In fact he sold the amps later. Anyway a cool guy indeed.

PS: Yes certain things get messed-up after editing, also less than and great than, but only sometimes it seems. Also I swear I could not get plus to show-up in the Michelle's homework comment. I figure as long as I don't let H. N. Lucas see I'm scared, then things work better.

Dear Skaycog,
Dang-nab-it! Last night I replied to a comment of his that we are here. He usually comments on graverobert's NPOCP posts each morning. Maybe you could catch him there tomorrow morning? He had a flickr page, but I can't remember what it was. If we knew we could leave a comment there as well.
Anyway today I go out for lunch with Aga! It's the new Thai place we found a couple of weeks ago. We had a bad experience at the one we usually went to so I am glad we found a new place to frequent. Also I weighed 204.0 lb this morning. That with the Stratos video, it's a great Tuesday right now. I'm listening to Angus Young guitar solos, now I'm pumped for work!
Later everybody!

szm, zms, rpm…….Happy Taco Tuesday! I heard from him on 5800 – 5849 this morning that he is going to be super busy until the end of the week and won't have time to comment. I'll wait until then and give him a link here, as we'll probably have different thread by then.
Glad you found a new Thai place. I had dinner last night at a Japanese restaurant. The yakatori was the best chicken I've ever had in my life! I eat plenty of chicken, but none of it tastes as exquisite as that did. I have never used the word exquisite with chicken ever.

Tom Scholz was his name and he was a very bright guy. I think he invented the Rockman brand of musical equipment. If I remember right, he actually performed and recorded the majority of the music himself from the first cd with his own equipment and then built a band around that. I actually saw Boston as it is now a couple of years ago at the Washington County Fair. I just really love their sound.

Dear Skaycog,
Have I ever told you I love the internet? It's something originally created with war in mind and then morphed over time by schools, companies, and laboratories into something that I use to make friends around the world. That simple anitwar pro human thought gives me great pleasure. In any case, here's your introduction to Mai from Kyoto Japan, another internet friend:
http://www.japanfoodaddict.com/chicken/chicken-ya
I've emailed Mai back and forth and she has used some of my suggestions to make her recipes easier to follow for people not from Japan. I have not made the yakitori recipe, but I will someday. They have something much like this in the Thai place we went to today. But I have another internet pen pal also from Kyoto. Here's a neat fact she told me about, near Kyoto there is a shrine to foxes with many red tori (sp) gates. i went to another shirne to foxes that was a smaller recreation of that. Along the path of the real on though monks sell food, the special food only found here: sparrow on a stick. Sometimes I want to go back there just to try that.
Anyway I really pigged-out today at lunch. We shared:
fried soy salad
coconut milk, chicken, and mushroom soup
fried red snapper
red curry with beef
Am I ever full! Also did you know that a dark chocolate is only like 2g of sugar and 21% of fiber per serving. Yeah I'm a bad bad dieter.
Sorry,

BuickBoy: It's so good to see you FINALLY! We didn't know how to get a hold of you. You replied to a post of mine in oppositelock over the weekend, but I could never get to your reply to tell you we were over here. The last 50 comments were hilarious, as we were replying at arrows all over the place. msz figured out how to do it. See my original comment from 57 weeks ago near the top of this page? After this post, it should show 59 replies. Reply from that place and address your comment to whoever you are talking to. It's easier to click "Last Activity" above which brings the latest comments to the top. To post images:
(img.src="put url here"width="500"/) BUT! Where I put parentheses ( ), you put < >. Understand??

BuickBoy is here!!!!!!!! Read my comment to him and make sure I told him everything correctly. I don't know how he found us.

BuickBoy…..You typed it wrong. Type:
(img.src="put url here"width="500"/). The first symbol ( should be replaced with < and the last symbol ) should be replaced with >
Also, you left out the word width. Do it exactly as I did except substitute the first and last symbols ( and ) with < and >
This is a good place to practice.

Hi everyone!
I heard something happened over at [REDACTED] in the last week or so, but anyway I'm so glad to see you all. I haven't been over there in nearly a year since Ray took my star for "… being an inactive commenter, and promoting silly comments…." Well, I don't miss much about that place except this thing, and I'm just guessing you brought the numbers with you.
