2021 Mercedes-Benz E450 All-Terrain – Close… yet not quite

I have a love-hate relationship with the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E450 All-Terrain. What I love is the fact that it’s an E-Class wagon. That means it’s well built, looks great, drives perfectly, and is comfortable inside as well. What I hate is the off-road SUV cosplay happening with the name and body cladding.

[Disclaimer: MB tossed us the keys to the 2021 E450 All-Terrain and included a tank of fuel.]

You’re barking up the wrong tree, now some Naugahyde that was sat upon by Ayrton Senna might get you a few clicks around here.

Agreed completely on the offroad cosplay part, typical German add 20mm to the ride height and all of a sudden we’re heading to the Sahara, when in reality it’s a return to perfectly normal ride heights that mean you scrape the front bumper on fewer curbs etc.

Local police have the E400d Allterrain (3.0 diesel with 335hp, 525tq) however the version sold to the public is the 2.0 diesel with 192hp 300tq. Or should I say was – it’s not on the website any more!
