Vandals destroy ’56 Studebaker and ’25 Model T

Seeing a good portion of our readers are in Canada, perhaps you could help this guy out. Some asswipes broke into the barn of one Don Keltie, 63, near Edmonton. The said asswipes went for a joyride in Don’s recently restored Studebaker and when it got stuck in the mud, they did the next dumb thing… they set it on fire.

They were not done however. They also took Don’s 1925 Ford Model T (pic after jump) and decided to vandalize it. If anyone near Edmonton knows anything about this… well, the proper thing to do is to call the Police but I have some other ideas which would prevent similar behavior from those individuals in the future. Pics and video of poor Don talking about his beloved car after the jump.

Wagon Wednesday: Find This Stolen ’57 Chevy Wagon from Ham Lake, MN

This yellow and white ’57 Chevy Wagon was stolen from the garage of a man who spent five years restoring it. It was supposedly stolen by a man who ran from the cops after they tried to pull him over for driving a stolen pickup. The man manged to run away and supposedly hid in the garage of the house where this Chevy was parked. The poor Chevy was just a victim of circumstance.

A classic yellow Chevy wagon, a loud one at that, pretty audacious choice for someone trying to blend in. Let’s hope it gets recovered and is returned to the owner and the thief gets shot his hands cut off arrested. Another picture after the jump.

UPDATE: The car has been recovered in St. Paul with only minor damage.

Hooniverse Weekend Edition: The Zyncro Has Been Heard From!!

Spotted In Arizona

My fellow Hoons may remember a post this olelongrooffan did about the Zyncro last year? Well, it turns out it was fairly popular subject matter and even was nominated for the Hooniverse Car of The Year by our infamous Dearthair.

Anyway, in the comment sections of the posts about that Zyncro, it was suggested by many of my fellow Hoons that Brigitte and Rainier would be welcome for an overnite parking spot and possibly a shower. Due to that interest, and thanks to the miracle that is the internet, I was able to get an email address for them, contacted them and actually received a response.

They are currently in Arizona, heading to southern California and the Baja Peninsula. Any of my fellow Hoons still interested in hosting them in that area? If so, drop me an email and I’ll forward yours along to them.

This Halloween, Give Cars not Candy

Juan from DCAutoGeek.com made a fantastic suggestion this morning. Instead of giving away candy this Halloween, why not give away Matchbox or Hot Wheels cars? Each car can be easily purchased for a price of a large candy bar, at less than a dollar each, especially when purchased in bulk. There are only upsides to this in my opinion; kids don’t get to each crappy sugary food, they get to play with little cars, and you get to keep and not eat the leftovers. Win-win.

Passing The Hat: Deartháir’s Eleanor

My Eleanor, the one who always gets away.

Around this time last year, we ran a series of articles about what was our phantom Eleanor, that car that we’ve always lusted after, that car we’ve come so close to owning, or have wanted to own for so long that it is starting to feel like a unicorn, always just managing to elude us.

For me, you may recall, that car was a Mk II Jaguar.

Decision-Making Through Peer Pressure

2004 Pontiac GTO Ram Air

The right choice...

Our good friend, world traveller, O.G. Hoon, occasional AtomicToasters contributor (and one hell of an awesome person) Number_Six is currently going through a mid-life crisis purchasing dilemma when it comes to (finally) replacing his hateful little econobox with a big-boy car. He’s narrowed it down to two options, and now his only real dilemma is that he’s refusing to listen to me.

Hooniverse Weekend Edition – Advice Follow-up to a Long Time Hooniverse Reader

Editors Note: Longtime Hoon Abe asked us for some advise back in October of last year. Well, we received a follow-up e-mail from him, and I thought I would run it in his own words. I hope you enjoy it…

You may remember me from this article where I was in the decision making process of getting one of the cars I dreamed of as a youth. Sadly, after reading some of the posts in the thread I did some research and I was stricken by sanity.

Hoons Help This olelongrooffan Out

Dateline Denver, Colorado; July 8, 2011

Hey Hoons, I am in Denver for the next several weeks helping a buddy remodel his new to him 1903 built home.

The project has been delayed for about a week due to permitting issues as a result, this olelongrooffan will be attending my first 24 Hours of LeMons.

Is there anything special my fellow Hoons would be interested in me capturing images of?

Hooniverse Weekend Edition: Hooniverse Asks – What Car Should Kris Buy?

Please allow this olelongrooffan to offer my apologies to both my fellow Hoons and my fellow contributors for my lack of posting here in the Hooniverse lately. A couple weeks ago I received a distress call from a friend (unfortunately without benefits) of nearly ten years. Kris had relocated from MickeyMouseLand to the the Land of Pretty People and Even Prettier Cars, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She had accepted a stressful position as an Operations Manager and as she put it, “Can you come down and be my wife for a few weeks?”

Conundrums, Conundrums

from the 2008 event

Sorry my fellow Hoons, the esteemed Mr. Brennan has been providing some excellent Hooniverse Truck Thursday posts so my post about the now reassembled Crosley pick up will have to wait until the next time around.

However, this olelongrooffan has a conundrum and requests the assistance of my fellow Hoons.
