Ever been to Brawley? Actually, no one’s every been to Brawley. If you’ve made an eastward trek out of San Diego, you might have been through Brawley. One could consider it a suburb on the north side of the bustling metropolis that is El Centro. Yours truly has purchased both gas and food in Brawley on more than one occasion and, well…we can only assume this particular Brawley-residing F250’s for sale because the Mayor is upgrading to a ‘72 F250.

Coastal elitism aside, this beast of a truck is about as rare (and heavy and desiccated and awesome) as a frozen woolly mammoth.

Sporting a 4 speed on the floor and a straight six with about 12 moving parts, the fact that this truck has been sitting since the mid-70s shouldn’t really be much of an obstacle to making it roadworthy. It’ll be just the small matter of replacing every rubber part or flushing out anything that’s ever held fluid. Beyond that, you might want to throw a couple of blankets on the seats so your dogs can ride along in comfort.

From the Conflict of Interest Department comes this remarkably well photographed ‘69 Triumph Spitfire MkIII. Not only is the photography near professional grade, but the listing is written by someone with very good wordsmithing skills. It’s as if…as if some guy living in Knoxville, who writes about cars for a living, with a fondness for project cars finds himself in need of more garage space to deal with a recent International Harvester Truck project acquisition.

Not only does this particularly well photographed Spit come with “a top mechanism“, but it comes with a parts car with a complete drivetrain. For somewhere between $5 and $3,000 all this can be yours!

“Dumb Buggy” is Equal Parts Stupid and Awesome, But Totally Cheap

No one ever puts anyone in the back seat of a baja bug, but one does need to carry gear when going to the desert. Solution? Put a flat bed on that puppy! While we’re at it, let’s replace the typical bug sheetmetal with lightweight aluminum panels. Simplify, add lightness for the win? Maybe not…but we’ve seen worse.

This, um…very custom Bug also sports suicide doors and what we really hope is a functional convertible top. The engine’s out of it right now, which really just leaves an opportunity to swap in something more fun. The good news is, the seller’s asking a mere $650.

What say you?

Please Please Please Let it Stay Under $500

Typically cars make their way to LeMons in one of a few ways: luxury maintenance costs/depreciation, cheap econoboxes that were cheap to start with, horrible rust/flood damage, or just being a total turd to begin with. Massive collision damage typically renders them undrivable. Not so in this case. The 302c.i. powered ‘67 Mustang runs and drives, despite being nearly turned inside out.

Being a Mustang, there’s likely a ton of ~~slightly crooked~~ parts that people will pay decent money for. You can apply those saved pennies towards a little time on a frame rack to get all the wheels pointed in roughly the same direction. Fabricating a cage on a unibody car with massive structural damage might be a little tricky, but if you’re smart, you’ll build in a bunch of clever chassis reinforcements in the process. Obviously, you’ll need to add some kind of windshield (you know, for safety).

Team Inside-Out Boy might not be a bad starting point…what’ve you got?

AMC Hornet Rallye X 360 is Not a Rollerblade Trick

…but it kind of sounds like one. Predating the era of Oakley Frogskins and neon-green Xtreme everything by about 20 years comes this AMC Hornet sporting a groovy shade of yellow. Groovy fades to bitchin’ as we check out the drivetrain. With a warmed over 360c.i. backed up by a T-5 five speed, this compact’s likely rather spirited to drive. This angry insect connects to the road with what look like 50-series tires wrapped around 17×8″ Torq-thrust IIs. The interior’s been re-done, and you get your choice of driver’s seats: the original vinyl unit or the Corbeau touring unit.

With the T-5 and a 2.90:1 rearend, it likely gets pretty good mileage, too. With five days left and the reserve unmet at $4k, we’re curious where you folks will come down on this one. What would you pay for a ride like this?
