Hooniverse Panther Edition Weekend – A 1988 Lincoln Town Hearse

The Panther Based Lincoln was one of the most prolific cars used by the Limousine Coach Builders, but a few were produced as Hearses as seen with this particular car. When was the last time you saw a Lincoln Hearse? Let’s discover this Lincoln Town Hearse, that is offered at a great price…

Hooniverse Fastback Friday – A Golden 1967 Chevrolet Impala with only 6,900 Miles

Welcome back to Hooniverse Fasstback Friday. After last weeks feature on what you thought was a fastback, I spotted this gem on Auto Trader Classics from the Connors Motor Company in West Chester, PA. The body style is a fastback in my opinion, with the rear deck lid that tapers from the rear window to the back end of the car gradually. And look, it only has 6,900 miles on it….

Hooniverse Van-Tastic Weekend – A 1979 Dodge Custom Maxi-Van

Continuing on with our Van-Tastic Weekend, I had to highlight at least one over-the-top Custom van, and thanks to AutoTrader Classics, here is the perfect van to do so. It is a 1979 Dodge Maxi-Van, the largest Dodge Van made. It is soooooooooooooooo over-wrought with details, from it’s Black & Gold Paint, to the Velour and Shag Carpeted interior, to the rear wing on the roof….. Why its a rolling Bordello!

Hooniverse Van-Tastic Weekend – The Second Generation Snub-Nose Econoline

The 1968 Ford Econoline revolutionized van design by moving the engine all the way to the front under a short hood. This was also the first time in which the Econoline was available with a V-8, and other options from power assisted steering, to Air Conditioning. This is the template that the others used to redesign their a few years later. This version of the Ford E-Series was in production between 1968 and 1974. The question is this: Does the second generation Ford Econoline have what it takes to become a blue chip collectible?

Hooniverse Weekend Edition – The Very Definition of the word Malaise: The 1979 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham

Within the Automotive Enthusiast community, the term “Malaise” describes pretty much any vehicle built during the 1970s and perhaps in the early 80s as well. This was the era in which there was a convergence of government mandates regulating emission levels, bumper regulations, and fuel economy. With such mandates, each of the automakers had to make their vehicles pollute less, try to integrate large bumpers to existing designs, and to try and eek out fuel economy with smaller engines. In turn, the cars became slower, uglier, and brown…. for some reason. However, there has never been a poster child for this era until now…. Introducing the very definition of the word Malaise, a Brown 1979 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham.

Hooniverse Truck Thursday – A Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside Pickup

Welcome to another edition of Hooniverse Truck Thursday. As many of you know, I have a rather soft spot for old Corvairs, and while doing a little research for a truck posting, I landed on this cherry Corvair Rampside on Auto Trader Classics. This was one of those General Motors innovations during the early 60′s that the public didn’t really get. See if you can “get” it now….

Hooniverse Wagon Wednesday – Two Sport Wagons that sold in Microscopic Numbers

Welcome to another edition of Hooniverse Wagon Wednesday. I thought I would shake up things a bit, and highlight a couple of Wagons that were recently discontinued within the US only a few years ago. They sold in such small numbers that their combined total sales couldn’t match the sales output of the almost $200,000 Bentley Continental. The vehicles are the Jaguar X-Type Wagon, and the Lexus IS300 SportCross. They were both a radical departure for their respective brands at the time of their introduction, and could never build up any sort of following in the age of the SUV.

Hooniverse Wagon Wednesday – An Aussie with a Japanese Nameplate – The Diamante Wagon

Welcome to another edition of Hooniverse Wagon Wednesday. I was trying to come up with a unique posting for this week to no avail. There is just so many pristine classic wagons I could show you, or a couple of wacky Craigslist wrecks, or a few eBay postings, but I wasn’t finding anything really interesting. However, when I was driving into work on Monday, I was following a wagon that was so obscure, and so rare, that I knew I had to do a post about it. Introducing the Australian Import with a Japanese nameplate, the Mitsubishi Diamante Wagon.

Hooniverse Weekend Edition – Cars You Should Know – The 1999 to 2001 Dodge Ramcharger

We received this delicious tip from OA 5599 (Thanks Man!) about a vehicle that has been rarely spotted in the states. What is unusual about the vehicle is the fact that is was crafted by one of the Detroit Big Three for Mexican consumption only. Introducing the 3rd generation of the Dodge Ramcharger.
