They really shouldn't let this be visible in a mall. It's almost indecent exposure. I needed to sit down for a while.
As one of the largest malls in the world — and one of the only ones with a Pirate Ship in the middle, and sea lion shows, and penguin shows, and meerkats — West Edmonton Mall can be a fun place to visit. Around this time of year, however, it works very hard at creating an “upscale” feel, to counteract the millions of “HUGE SALE” signs that every retailer thinks is a good idea to hang in their window.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. But there’s usually some pretty awesome eye-candy to be seen in and around the mall — both of the automotive variety and otherwise. Since I can’t take photos of the “otherwise”, here are some photos of random vehicular sightings in and around the mall while doing our Christmas shopping.
Also, some random not-so-vehicular sightings. I, for one, was completely unaware that there were Ferrari running shoes… and I think I preferred being unaware of that fact. What’s that? Your friends just don’t think you’re enough of a poser? Then buy these shoes! Then everyone will point and scorn!
The sad part? They’re really nice shoes, and I kinda like them. Sigh. I’m so ashamed.

HA! I bet those shoes never hit the track.
ZING!
Sonofabitch, WordPress ate my gallery! Why didn't anyone tell me? Honestly!
Should be fixed now. Sorry kids.
I'm still not going there. But I am damn-well hitting the Motoraunt some day when the highway isn't closed!
Mitch, don't feel too bad. I have the Adidas Goodyear shoes(Best driving shoes ever). My next pair will probably be Puma and some sort of Ferrari variation.
The new Vespa line for Adidas is cool too. The Porsche Design however, very crappy.
I love the posche line! they're a little more formal looking, not driving shoes, but great nevertheless. And they're very very comfortable
I had a pair of brown suede Adidas Goodyear, very comfortable and nice for driving. But the the suede split right by my right foot little toe within 4 weeks of occasional wear. I wasn't impressed. The shoes I have got the most driving out of was a pair of Speedwell's, bought in 2001 and still going strong. Good thing, because I believe the company has folded.

My wife has a pair of Puma driving shoes (not Ferrari branded) and she LOVES them. Great for driving but not as comfortable as an all day shoe.
I like those shoes too but they only place they belong is on the foot of a current or ex-Ferrari F1 driver.
Goodyear I'd be okay with. That's not TOO much brand-whoring. I shall have to look into these.
When you do, look inside the label. My last pair of Puma walking-around-type shoes has a label in the tongue that says something like:
Nicht feuerfeste ausgestattet
Not flameproof equipped!
That's how I know they're not driving shoes.
Oh snap– they sold the Nissan S-Cargo in Canada? How appropriate, it was designed to resemble its name from almost every angle.
Too bad that Wikipedia deleted the article, List of vehicles sold in Canada but not the United States. (somebody's random mirror of wikipedia linked)
You mean your mall doesn't normally have a Lamborghini in it? Pfft…commoner.
No. Normally, it has a Ferrari and an Aston.
You guys forgot to mention the coolest car at the West Edmonton Mall…..
It's the Truck "specialty" room at the Hotel there, here's a link:
http://www.fantasylandhotel.com/rooms/luxury_truc...
You get to sleep in the bed of an old Chevy pick up truck, and the whole room is automotive themed!! I've wanted to stay in that room as soon as I heard about it…. pity it's so far from Detroit.
p.s. note the mirror above the truck bed too!
so the mirror is obvious, but does the stoplight regulate sexytime?
Yes.
"GO! Go, go, go, go, go, go… WAIT… STOP! … … … … AND GO!"
Dare we ask what the yellow light means…
Caution, only enter if safe or unavoidable?
Clear the intersection with extreme haste?
Where did you REALLY find that R32? Because it wasn't in front of the mall. It's ok. You can tell me.
But first, let me guess. Uhhhh… Sherwood Park!
Wasn't Sherwood Park, since I've only ever been there once, and it was boring so I probably won't go back. I'm actually not sure where it was, I think it was a few blocks away at a Superstore, but I can't for the life of me remember which one that was. The bloody things are everywhere around here. There are two within three or four blocks of my house.
As ashamed as I am to admit it, I own a pair of the Ferrari branded FutureCats. I didn't buy them because of the cavallino rampante though, the non-ferrari futurecats were only available in suede at the time, which means they would be hoplessly grimy within a week, the Ferraris were nice smooth leather. They are a nice shoe for long drives.
