So the trip where this olelongrooffan spotted that double decker taxicab proved to be beneficial in spotting some weird ass crap. Not only was that yellow blob spotted, a new kind of church bus was seen by this olelongrooffan and I can’t help but share it with my fellow Hoons. Long Shots: A New Kind Of Taxicab

IMG_3127

So awhiles back this olelongrooffan was out and about on the highways and byways round these here parts I’m calling home these days. It was just a bit south of here that I spotted this monstrosity parked alongside that near wannabe interstate highway and the requirement to whip a Ueee was necessary. Click on through to see a few more images of this double decker cab.

Because we all love Elkys and Econolines. Last weekend this olelongrooffan traveled the back roads up to enjoy a leisurely lunch with a long time ago girlfriend, the badgecarryingblonde, and on the way home over in the neighboring burg of Walnut Shade, I spotted a car lot with these two beauties parked out front. That Elky was priced at a mere thirty five hundred bucks. Click on through to see what else was spotted that sunny late summer day here in the Ozark Mountains.

Long Shots: Hows About A “T” Party

So a couple of weeks back, this olelongrooffan was out and about just checking out what there was to be seen around that mountainous city I’m calling home these days. Well, as I was cruising down the main drag that is Highway 76 there, I spotted these two ancient machines parked in front of a local ice cream shoppe. Needless to say, I am sure my fellow Hoons know exactly what this olelongrooffan did.

Long Shots: Early 70’s Chevrolet Impala

LongRoofian August 25, 2015 All Things Hoon

Optimized-IMG_4182

So this olelongrooffan was out and about at my new local to me human refueling station last week and this old Chevy was spotted. I have decided that due to my demonstrated lack of ability to actually identify the actual year of anything I see while out and about, I am merely going to categorize this as an early 70’s Impala. But I do believe it is a 1971 model year.

Long Shots: Quick Takes: In The Lot

My fellow Hoons may remember that in my Truck Thursday post last week where I had spotted that cool old International Pick Up Truck, this olelongrooffan mentioned how excited I was be waiting to see what other cool cars I would see in the lot of that place where I hang my hat these days.

Weekend Edition: Twofer Hoon Meeting Pleasures

IMG_4143

As it seems fellow Hoon Anti has been out and about cruising all over the European countryside with a bunch of buds (at least that is what that Book about my Face tells this olelongrooffan), this olelongrooffan thought a few sights of what this olelongrooffan has seen around the Ozark Mountains this past few weeks would be in order. And to share with my fellow Hoons the twofer experience also experienced. But prior to that, I have absolutely no freaking idea why this gooseneck flatbed with a bunch of hay bales on it has been parked in this vacant parking lot for the past five weeks. I spot it every day on my way to work right there on the strip that is Highway 76 there in the Purple Heart City that is Branson. And it is nowhere near Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede horse barn/restaurant.

Truck Thursday: Long Shots: The International Edition

IMG_4338

One of the perks of working in an automotive museum is the ability to see some pretty cool stuff the folks visiting us Hoon around in. Last week there was a pretty good size car show here in the central part of these here United States of America. A customer of ours from the Dallas area came up with three of the five cars he has purchased from us over the past couple years. Yeah, a 61 Bubble Top 409, 56 Nomad and a 68 Camaro made the trip up, on trailers of course. He left with a grey 39 Ford Sedan as well. But as those are rather pedestrian automobiles, this olelongrooffan didn’t even gather an image of them. However, on Monday of this week, this beast was spotted in the parking lot and certainly captured my attention.

Long Shots: A One-Time USMC Jeep Replacement?

LongRoofian August 3, 2015 All Things Hoon

IMG_3574

So my fellow Hoons, this olelongrooffan almost cannot believe how much my life has changed up, for the better, over the past few months. And I can’t believe it was ten weeks ago that thehorsefarmer, thebarngoddess and this olelongrooffan headed out to check out a, then local, flea market down there in the Sunshine State. While thebarngoddess was out checking out a sweet golf themed piece of art work for their home in the golf course community they live in, we boys were checking out everything that could be seen with wheels attached. And when we stumbled upon this jeep type thingamajig, even thehorsefarmer was stumped as to what it was.

An Unexpected Road Trip Adventure: The Unexpected End Has Arrived

LongRoofian July 24, 2015 Road Trip

IMG_3994bumper

If my fellow Hoons are reading this post while at work, be warned it is a kind of longrooffan style, wandering all over the place, growing a white beard inducing kind of offering. A suggestion to wait until you are settled comfortably with a cool beverage of your choice may be in order. Or not.

So my fellow Hoons may remember this olelongrooffan is on a mind clearing Unexpected Road Trip Adventure and currently hanging at the B’s Nest in historic Rockaway Beach in the Ozark Mountains. Over the past couple weeks I have related my experiences on this Road Trip and although those experiences occurred a couple weeks prior, the previous relating of them to my fellow Hoons has been hindered by a lack of internet access, tremendous socializing and the fact that Hooniverse is not my personal blog so I can only steal schedule so many posts per day. After all, there is a ton of more interesting stuff to be found in the Hooniverse than this olelongrooffan’s ramblings. BTW, Welcome Sloan Glucker, future supermodel and race car driver.

Well during one of my adventures on this Road Trip, this olelongrooffan got a tour of Bus_Plunge’s miniature barn and spotted the Pinder truck and trailer in the lede image. I mentioned at the time, if I could find one I might just give up my quest for a GMC Motorhome and acquire it for future Road Trip Adventures. Well, brother Bus_Plunge, in the comment section of yet another of my ramblings, inserted the second image of one of those combinations and suggested my fellow Hoons pay attention to the tailights on that trailer. As always, listening to our elders is always a good idea.
