Rotten Rental Car Review: 2015 Nissan Versa Note SV

20151024_084459

It may not be obvious, but the rental car industry is a tough and very stressful place to work. Having friends that have worked in it before, I’ve always been conscious about making sure I never make someone’s job harder when renting a car. One of the sure ways to make that happen is to walk into a branch amidst general chaos and – without any advanced reservation or warning – say “I need a car NOW!” Yeah, you and the eight other people in line.

I was that person. I didn’t want to be and I didn’t plan on it, but when a part for my only car was delayed after the drivetrain was already taken apart, I had no choice.

This was my punishment.

1966 Volkswagen Deluxe Bus

The fourteenth annual Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival and Concours d’Elegance will soon return to the white sandy beaches of South Carolina with a special exhibition that hits home.

Running from October 31st – November 1st, one of the featured exhibits is called “Life in the Suburbs”. Being a motoring festival, you can guess where this is going. This exhibit will pay tribute to 1940s, 50s, and 60s suburbia with a focus on the cars and trucks that served millions of families in ways that they never had before. How to Race the Reliant Robin in Assetto Corsa

Those that caught my Assetto Corsa review from a few months ago will already be familiar with the wonderful modding community that exists in what I believe to be one of the best racing sims around. I say that because the game has an incredible level of detail where it counts and the developers do a great job of keeping it alive in a fast-paced game industry. A big part of the reason why Assetto Corsa remains relevant is because the developers at Kunos Simulazioni make the tools they used to create the game openly available to anyone who knows how to use them.

Their openness towards modding means that their otherwise very accurate, difficult, and totally serious racing sim can become one spectacular SNAFU.

Case in point: filling a 26-car grid at Monza with nothing but Reliant Robins and then trusting the game’s aggressive AI drivers to do the honors. We all know the three-wheeler is a tricky one, so how well can Assetto Corsa’s AI – who are more accustomed to GT3 and F1 machines – cope with the challenging physics?

Just watch the video above. You need this today.
