2015 Chicago Auto Show: the Ford GT earns its stripes

DSCN7939
This isn’t the first time Ford brought out the all-new GT, but it’s the first time we’ve been able to see it out in public in a color different than what was shown in Detroit. Also, it gets stripes!
The paint is called Liquid Silver and when combined with the dark gray stripes it just looks so right. Even among the new cars here in Chicago being seen for the first time, the GT still manages to stand out and make a huge impression. Hell, there’s a blue carbon Bugatti Veyron Super Sport parked here and I had to have someone remind me about it. It’s stunning.

Gray on gray is cool, but let's see this GT is Wimbledon white with a pair of blue Cunningham stripes.

Is there a reason they chose not to paint it?

I believe the 2006 GT color combination you're referring to is Tungsten Grey with Silver stripes, not the other way around.

Basically, they reversed the color combination for 2015. Tungsten Grey with Silver, as I recall, is (was?) $kaycog's preferred color scheme in the GT.
That lede image is awfully reminiscent of the Koenigsegg Agera R.

is this a tease or is this something actually considered marketable. if gm (small case as I give those Koolaide drinkers no respect) can do the corvette year after year and sell all they build, why not Ford? certainly not 200 large but something more reasonably priced with at least comfortable seating for two? could save a bundle by making the cupholders optional. everyone knows vette pilots are caffeine addicted masochists.

years ago, H. Ford,II was misquoted. "there is no substitute for cubic inches except adding lightness" is what he actually said. as usual, the major press got it wrong because a Ferrari was just then screaming past the pits where the interview took place; never has a misquote lasted so long….
