Can you handle the ennui of a regional auto show?

TeamClearCoat was invited to their local auto show. The 2018 Denver Auto Show allowed the two men behind the YouTube channel and podcast examine more than just cars… they got in touch with their very souls amidst a sea of economy compacts and mid-size crossovers.

You don’t need to understand French. You don’t need an art degree to dissect the nuance. Just hit play and enjoy something different for a change. You’ll love it it… or you’ll hate it, there’s no in between on this one.

Personally, I think it’s hilarious. Well done, gents.

I’ve seen enough foreign art films to enjoy that.

    • All biblical sins in three minutes, we’re lucky with this one….

Went to my local auto show this winter. Subaru brought a total of zero turbochargers, and no BRZ. Both Fiat-Chrysler and Toyota both kept their one interesting car behind a velvet rope. Look, but never touch. BMW brought two cars and four trucks. The disappointment in this film… it speaks to me.

The traditional auto show is dead in Australia, as in none are held any more. Mind you I rarely went to them so I am part of the ‘problem’. I think the last one I went to was Sydney to see the Alfa 8C. That was worthwhile because I don’t think I’ve ever seen another one!

The prominence of the Nissan Rogue is strong. The nuance is there, as is a Dutch oven joke.

The societal conventions dictate that once licked, that Alfa Romeo is now his.

What I expected before viewing the video was a documentary on the local ‘car show’ consisting of Mustangs with Pep Boys crap glued to them. Was not disappointed.

That was great, a veritable shish kebab of skewered pretensions.
