Video: Ferrari 458 enters the spin cycle on a wet road

Ferrari 458 crash

Proper throttle application can make a major difference when on a race track. Mash it coming out of a corner, and you’re likely to be slower than the guy or gal using smooth and progressive technique with the go pedal. This doesn’t just apply to racing though, as proper throttle modulation can make for a safer and more comfortable experience out on the road.

Especially in a rear-wheel-drive car… especially one with 562 horsepower… especially one with ultra-high-performance tires… especially when it’s raining.

How not to accomplish the task of driving an expensive machine in the rain can be seen below the break.

I didn't know Cars & Coffee had events in Italy.

More support for the idea that the size of one's checkbook often outpaces one's driving abilities.

Wow… just wow… Dude can't even drive a normal speed in the rain? Lame.

What's Italian for "Hold my beer, watch this!"?

Seriously. Why was he struggling so much to merge? Too much car not enough driver.

By the way, Glucker drives Porsches like that.

Pretty sure it was set up so he could look cool for the camera, blowing by his buddies. He was trying get a gap and then let them past so he could stand on it. Epic fail. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

    He 45°8 the wall.

After watching this video I've deduced two things:

-No matter how rich you get, you can't escape stupid
-Italian is one of the most entertaining languages to listen to.

Don't worry. His dad will just buy him a new one.

"How dare they pass me! I'll show them…"

I think this is what went down:
"All right, let's make a cool video: you go first and then I'll pass you."
    Gets in the car.
"Let's see it's raining, so I will set the car in race mode with no traction control. Traction control is for sissies…"

Based on the Ferrari logo on the rear seat belts of the camera car, my guess is those guys are Ferrari fans who rented the 458 for a few hours.
