There. Let’s take a moment to appreciate this creation. It’s a custom-built rock crawler on a pipe chassis, manufactured from well-chosen parts readily available. And it can climb trees. If you have land, forest and rocks to roam, is there anything better?
From the ad, I can make out it probably has a Suzuki engine mounted midships, but it’s up to you to confirm that.
The vehicle sits on BFG balloon tires on the ad photos, but these have apparently been sold by now and the thing comes on a worn 38,5/14-15 set. There are new Fox nitrogen shocks, discs all round, a hydraulic handbrake and whatever you might need, including a winch. The cockpit nestled inside the pipe chassis cabin has plexiglas windows, and you sit secured into a bucket seat.
The axles are from a Suzuki SJ413 Jeep and the ad says the engine is a 1.3-litre, so I’m deducting the engine is most likely from the same donor. But I could be wrong.
The seller accepts tractor/ATV/Bobcat trade-ins, and the asking price is 4800 euros, down from the earlier price of 5500. The crawler has been built in 2011, so it’s most likely not too worn yet. And you know what? It doesn’t sound like a too hefty price for becoming a certified badass. The cage looks sturdy enough to withstand at least a couple rollovers while attempting to scale the nearest pine.
