Mystery Car

Do you remember Mystery Science Theater 3000? That was the brilliant TV show about a dude and his robots, trapped on a space station and forced to watch awesomely bad movies – mostly schlocky old SCi-Fi stuff. Did I mention that it was brilliant? Almost as dark as a theater, owing to it bing snapped at night, is today’s Mystery Car, and one hopes that you will be equally as brilliant in discerning its identity.

That shouldn’t be too hard as you all are quite adept at this contest. Today’s candidate comes from a suburban adventure my wife and I recently took and includes some window reflections as subterfuge to make your task all the more difficult.

In case you’re new around here, the rules are: provide the make, model, year range and likely engine in the comments below. Get them all right and you will win the respect of your equals, and perhaps the attention of your betters. Let’s get this one wrapped up, I think the movie’s about to start.

I'm feeling like a Prelude, but I'm skeptical.

      Console in the backseat? Check
Roof/door intersection? Looks like how Honda would do it.
      Oh Crap Handle? Check

92-96 Honda Prelude, engine likely an H23.

      • Quaalude it is! Well done all.

It was the shape of the side window glass/C-pillar that had me thinking Prelude-dom, I just couldn't pin the generation. Nice!

  • Why, hello mystery car. How you doin?

I don't know what it is. I just like that the co-driver's racing seat is as low as possible to help with the center of gravity.

What was the answer to last week's Mystery Car?

Prelude? Are you sure, I was going to say Kia Soul. I mean I can practically read the Kia badge on the liftgate.
