Truck Thursday: A 1964 Datsun Anyone?

While this olelongrooffan rarely links to other blogs, when I do it usually ends up being to Hemmings blog. Those guys attract a bunch of stuff this olelongrooffan just adores. Today is no exception. In honor of Alex’s Stout on Monday, I thought I would include this one here on Truck Thursday. My fellow Hoons can see it here. They also have a cool Canadian featured there today.

    There's a guy in town here with an old Datsun he was using to carry the cab of a second old Datsun, haven't been able to get a pic though.

  • Those of a certain age recognize this as the model for Slim's "Kid" pickup in Gasoline Alley.

    Circa 1974 I drove a red one of these for a company when I was 17, and it was Tiny, so I took duct tape and wrote a big TONKA on the tailgate and made thousands of people smile and laugh in Silicon Valley traffic during the 6 months I worked there. The boss was not amused when I quit and he saw the tailgate.
