Is that a body of water in the background? Too bad that guardrail is there, because those wheels need to Splash.
I used my S197 5 spokers on my Ranger then I was sorting wheels and tires… the offset on the new wheels is different. They rubbed enough on the suspension to make the lip sharp. Sharp enough to cut the brake line.
Oh- this truck gets better… Hell's yeah!

I think it's my Quad4 CRX; the GM swap used the hub and axles from the donor so it has the GM bolt pattern in front and Honda bolt pattern in the rear. Not satisfied with just that mish-mash, I used Nissan wheels in back.

That's not, strictly speaking, an example of the wrong maker's wheels on a car. Mostly because the Eagle Kammback is, itself, a crazy assed lovechild.
At one time I ran MGB Rostyle wheels on my Datto, and it actually worked visually.
Then the wife wanted her wheels back and I've since gone with early Silvia/200SX steelies with BFG RT/As for regular use, and vintage 4-spoke Cragars with vintage BFG R T/As (SIZE "B"!!) for the occasional show.

I wish I had a pic available but my 1979 AMC Spirit runs a set of 1988 Dodge Diplomat police car wheels painted GM rally wheel silver with a set of AMC center caps bolted on and a set of mystery trim rings pulled out of a bin full of trim rings and center caps at some hillbilly junkyard I found one day while driving the back roads of Hernando county Florida.
+1 for the Hernando County, Florida reference alone…now on a mission to find that hillbilly junkyard…I might just find my next ride…

Dodge and Ford share their 5 bolt spacing. I've read for years about the cardinal sin of putting the wrong wheels on the wrong brand and how bad it looks. From 5 minutes of internetting, I could only find one pic of the swap, and in this case it doesn't matter.
<img src="http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr307/c12h26/101_0800.jpg" width="500">
How in the world do you know those are Ford steelies? They're definitely Dodge dog dishes.
In the original thread, from the random forum on which I found somebody putting ford wheels on a dodge he says that those are 16×7 fords instead of the stock 16×6 dodge.
The picture proves no point at all, but I can't find a picture of an old FoMoCo with new Mopar wheels. I've seen a few and it looks "bad".
If those are 16's, then the truck in the picture is a D250 instead of a D150. They still interchange with Ford rims, but 8 lugs instead of 5 as you suggest above. I'm presuming from the pictured exhaust pipe that the truck is Cummins-powered, tuned to the point that it needs slicks.
I was hoping to find a Pinto with Ferrari wheels. I guess no one is quite that insane.
I was looking for a Ferrari with Pinto wheels!
I know someone who used to roll his project Roadrunner around his shop on a couple of Pantera rims.

Absolutely not.
I am now so sorry that I never took a picture of the Sport-T with the Jag Starfish wheels on it.
I only had two with tires, so I only did a brief test fit on one side; I never got around to putting them on permanently.
But trust me, it was a badass combination.

I actually kind of like them on the datsun… but i'm probably a ricer.
I can't help but recall that there were some Datsun factory wheels that were Fuch knockoffs. They were pretty common back in the day.

C4 Vette wheels (with ugly green paint added) on a E36 BMW

Goggle image search " _________ wheels on" can find interesting things.
I came here to say exactly that. I didn't even like C4 Vette wheels on C4 Vettes. I really hate them on anything else. If the central disk was maybe 2/3 its current diameter, the proportions would look great to me. As it is, it looks like some draftsman used the wrong circle template back when he drew these up.
And yes, that *is* a toilet strapped to the roof of this Subie. Don't ask me why.

The vette wheels trend is pretty popular. What always makes me wonder is where all the guys running bently wheels on their passats are finding them. (Would post example buy I'm stuck on my phone)
A neighbor has a MK3 Jetta riding around on its bump stops that had C4 Corvette wheels when I first saw it. Now he has some even less appealing 3 spokes. It is funny how small 16s can look when they have rubber bands for tires and they're under a VW.

Seems that all Japanese truck 6-lug wheels are interchangeable.
You would think so…
[useless knowledge mode: ACTIVATE]
While the bolt patterns are generally the same (and the same as GM 6-lug stuff), there can be significant differences in the centre bore. Mitsubishi, for example, has a 108mm centre bore, whereas Toyotas are 106. Early GM stuff is quite a bit smaller (in the 90's, mm wise).
So, be careful when purchasing, or have a big enough drill press to do your own centre-boring.
Yeah, that is often the case. It's the reason why I can't run Honda, Mazda, or Mini 4×100 wheels on my E30.

(Yes I know, stock wheels = party foul, but that is my 240)
I kind of dig those wheels on a 240. It makes you wonder what is under the hood – there are a few out there with small-block Chevy transplants.
I know both Turbobrickers – the white 244 is an autocrossing/track-day build with rather modified suspension and a turbocharger added, while the black one was close to stock. The engine bay is plenty large for a V8, though – I've had my share of terrible, impractical daydreams.
I see a lot of Crown Vic/Grand Marquis cabs around the DC area rolling on Toyota wheels. I think this is mostly due to the fact that the wheels are probably dirt cheap, and in DC, it is against the law to drive a cab with missing hubcaps. Cheap alloys = no hubcaps to lose on our pothole ridden roads.
I thought I was the only one to notice the hubcap law on DC cabs. I actually mentioned it here on Hooniverse sometime recently.
I've seen a lot of San Diego Crown Vic cabs with Dodge Charger/Magnum 17" steelies and hubcaps. You can always tell because the offset is a bit off and the wheels protrude a bit more than stock.
Any clue why DC decided to mandate hubcaps on cabs? I can only imagine some politician owns a wheel cover/used hubcap business…
I'd like to know myself. When I visited DC about 7 years ago, it sure didn't take me long to notice that every cab had a wheel cover, even though most were mismatching or not original to the car.
