Vintage Advertising: Javelin is a Champion Edition
This is one of the many 1970s automotive ads you will be seeing in the upcoming time. I’m going to leave them here with no comment of my own, expecting comments from you Hoons.
And I promise that the quality of these will improve in upcoming weeks. Clicky for bigger picy.

Can anyone give me an idea of how hard it is to get parts for an AMX or Javelin compared with a Chevelle? I have seen some decent deals and it always intrigues me as I really like the styling
Parts availability isn't really that bad for most AMC products. All pertinent engine parts are readily available, as are transmission parts (both Automatic and Manuals). The real sticking point to these cars will be the Body Panels, and the Interior bits and pieces. There is a very strong club network of AMC enthusiasts, so I would join one of those clubs before acquiring a Javelin, AMX, or even a Matador. You can find club affiliations within the pages of Hemmings.
Also, I'm guessing ZERO reproduction parts for a Javelin or AMX. I'm pretty sure at this point you could build most any Chevelle out of a catalog (that was not the case 10-15 years ago).
Errrrr… Go spend a few minutes following the links you get when you feed "javelin reproduction parts" or "amx reproduction parts" to Google.
Not as complete as what you can get for the other pony and muscle cars of the era, but there's enough demand to get some things reproduced.
I was wrong on the zero repro parts, but still i would guess about 10% of the parts you could find for a Chevelle. It isn't that you can't get replacements, but you might spend a long time tracking down NOS or used parts.
Thank you for answering! AMC has always had a strange allure to it and now I know that much more if I ever want one, Cheers!
It's way easier to get Javelin parts than it is to get parts for my TR7!
It's way easier to get Javelin parts than it is to get parts for my Honda MB5!
It's even easier to get Javelin parts than it is to get parts for my Porsche 944…
Apparently I am not trying hard enough for obscurity!
Javelins are fine automobiles, but no, obscure they are not.
Sorry, should have said compared to the current Chevelle I have

Lots of helpful folks there, and lots of good info.

Mine just arrived in the mail.
I used to own a 1973 Javelin AMX. I bought it for $650 from a junkyard-and that included towing! It was a 360/ Go Pack car that was originally pink with black and white interior. It even came with a complete set of factory service manuals and the original engine still bolted to a stand. What happened to it? Sadly, it was too rusty for me to save and I ended up parting it out. Back then (10 years ago), no one made reproduction body parts for it and this car needed rockers and quarters. I ended up keeping the engine (I had it rebuilt) for my 1979 Spirit and the rare 15 in rally wheels (which I later sold for a tidy profit!) but the body ended up being cut up by the guy I sold it to in order to fix another car. A sad ending to such a cool old car!
Trunnions!
When I first moved to Canada (Calgary) in '83, the Javelin was still fairly common but seeing this ad made me realise I haven't seen one on the street in years. I loved the styling.
I've always thought that the Javelin had the most "muscular" look of all the musclecars.
