I remember sitting in one in Detriot and thinking to myself, holy this interior is cheap! But then I remembered its an entry level sub compact. Curious if they can sell any of these here
We're in the same club then. IIRC, the Cygnet was originally only going to be offered to current AM owners. The idea was that there would be a spare Aston to toodle around in while the better one was in for work.
Since Aston is only putting their badge on this to satisfy the Euro version of CAFE, I'd love to see those of means supporting the company by purchasing one with each new Aston they buy, have it trailered to the local junk yard then crushed with <10 miles on the odometer. Videos of the proceedings can then be sent to the (in)appropriate government agencies asking them to clarify the validity of forcing Aston to market such a thing.
So I'm at the Harrisburg Pa car show a couple weeks ago and I had my daughters sit in the IQ and XD's. They were the right scale for them and they are kids. They are small
I want to like it. It's the right size for my needs, but there is a problem: Fuel economy. I can't see it being all that good on gas with that big 4 cylinder engine in it. If it were powered by a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder or a tiny diesel, I would be all over it. Instead I just see it as a steaming pile of meh. The only real advantage it has over a Yaris is the super-tight turning circle. Otherwise, there is simply no advantage that justifies the higher price tag. Sorry but I would rather have seen Toyota bring us the Aygo than the iQ. It's simply a better product for the money.
Agreed; espcially considering that it uses what is essentially the same mechanical package as the Aygo anyway. It's a silly car, the IQ. It makes a great thing of its tiny length and the fact that it has four seats, but those in the back are virtually useless.
If they had added a foot of length after the front doors it would have been an excellent car. As it is, it's just a novelty toy.
I would drive one of these. I live in the city and it makes sense for that. It has a spot for my dog and another passenger, easy as hell to park, probably good mileage. You have to admit it is much better looking than a Smart and it might have after market support to make it a little more enjoyable to drive. On the other hand, would I drive it on the highway? Maybe as a last resort / death wish.

Perhaps you'd prefer it as the Aston Martin Cygnet.

As someone who lusts after a V12 vantage I can only pretend your reply never happened
A proper yacht needs a tender.
Or a CAFE patsy

I'm going to say it. I like subcompacts, and I like this. I would happily drive that car if I had the money.
It certainly looks much better than the iQ, but at around $40,000 USD, it's a bit pricey.

Wow, that would be even worse than making paper and cardboard so they can be immediately recycled to make the mandated recycled paper and cardboard..
My point, exactly!

Why can't we get the diesel iQ over here? 140ft-lb and a 6-speed? Yes Please!
I can't image going to 300-mile highway drive in this at speeds of 75-85. -Ish. It has to be a penalty box.
