Hooniverse Weekend Edition: Last Call
Earlier today, the esteemed Mr. Brennan referenced the Plymouth Horizon in his Sebring post. Ironically, I saw one of these today while out at my local U-Pull-It.

2nd gen Dakota (?), 1st gen Dakota, first series Intrepid? YOUR JUNKYARD IS ORGANIZED BY MAKE??? So jealous.
yeah but all the imports are lumped into one section….
I actually prefer the old home of my Commando where everything is scattered all over the place.
As long as the junkyard doesn't stack the cars, mixing makes is OK. I'd hate to see a (Geo) Storm on the Horizon.
Not only that, but a first-gen Dakota with at least one decent taillight AND the factory one-panel slider. That would never happen around here.
It's a Ram, not a 2nd gen Dakota. Dakota's didn't have rear opening rear doors.
Please tell me those vertical wheels are welded to the ones with tyres on, otherwise that's fecking shady.
The Omni/Horizon wasn't really so bad looking except for the hideous Chrysler grille and headlight treatment. From the back it was actually pretty nice in an original-golf kind of way.

I like when you see someone who has convinced himself that it's a really nice car, and just goes for it with ridonculous wheels and a fine-toothed restoration comb:

Didn't the Simca get there before the Golf/Rabbit dropped? And much as I'm not wild about them, that lower car is sweeeeet.
Whatever Simca might have done in Yurrup, the Omnirizon was perceived in the US as a shameless Rabbit copy. A pretty competent one, but shameless nonetheless.
