Question of the Weekend – What Designer Edition Can You Think Of?
Last posting for this Designer Edition Weekend, and I thought I would ask the Hooniverse Audience what Designer Edition can you think of? Right away, I can think of the Designer Editions of the Lincoln Continantal Mark V, the most successful of the line. Lincoln used to sell at least 75,000 of the large 2-door coupes a year, with acres of plasti-wood, and yards of vinyl and leather (don’t forget about Velour!).
Some of the Designer Editions of the Mark IV and Mark V include the Bill Blass Edition, The Emelio Pucci Edition, The Givenchy Edition, and the Cartier Edition. They all had special features, from their own paint finish, special vinyl roof treatments, interiors finished in coordinating colors, finished off with the Designers Nameplate in Gold in the Opera Windows. The Cartier Edition was probably themost subtle, finished in triple Grey.
Designers seem to range from High Fashion, to Sportswear, to Blue Jeans, so dazzle me with your brilliance. Also tell me which Designer Edition attracts you, and which one repulses you?

Eddie Bauer Ford trucks, and LL Bean edition Subarus. I can't believe you guys skipped over these; they're pretty ubiquitous designer brand cars.
Isn't that a pretty good reason to skip over them? I see an Eddie Bauer Explorer or two every day, don't see a Fila T-Bird though.
I actually had an Eddie Bauer Bronco for a while. It had even been owned by some second string pro baseball player, which added about $0.25 to the resale value.
Lexus ES300 Coach edition.
Jeep Cherokee Orvis edition.
Almost leased one of these!
Harley Davidson Ford trucks. At this point, HD is more of a fashion designer than a motorcycle maker.
They also have a trim package on heavy trucks (transfer/tractor-trailer/18-wheeler). Take a look at the International Lonestar HD.
The top picture is a Bill Blass Mark VI, not a V. The VI is much less common anyhow, and much less loved.
Also, the Nike edition Bombardier CRJ-700:

The real Nike corporate jet has tail number N1KE.

Blue jeans?

Blue jeans.
Why, the Frank Sinatra Edition of the Imperial, of course…!

Complete with a box of Sinatra cassette tapes.
I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and ev'ry highway;
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

The 2008 Mercury Mariner VOGA Edition.
The Mercury VOGA has Moss Green metallic paint, special chrome highlighting the grille, rear fascia trim and unique VOGA badging which is also on the 17-inch wheels.
The Mariner VOGA's distinctive style carries through to the interior, as well. A charcoal black environment surrounds the plush, unique VOGA-embroidered Cashmere leather seats, which are trimmed with contrast Ash stitching to match the exterior color. Charcoal black floor mats are embroidered with the VOGA label, reinforcing the personalized feel.
The focal point of the interior is the striking Tarragon metallic instrument panel covered in a unique paint. The subtle silver-green metallic spans across the center console and door switch plates as well. All of these extra touches provide Mercury customers with the look and feel of a personalized vehicle customized to suit their tastes.

Oh, yeah……..The Chief Designer of this vehicle was none other than Camilo Pardo, who was also Chief Designer of the Ford GT.

Little-known fact. To keep weight down, Ford GTs were made out of wallpaper.
Smarty pants.
Fancy a Ford GT appearing here…
Well, well, well……a Frenchman reappears…….fancy that! ;>)
/Hi, ami!
The Oleg Cassini AMC Matador.
Cadillac Eldorado-based Pierre Cardin Evolution. Aside from the revised nose and tail, the interior was redone with hand-sewn leather, wool carpets, a refrigerator, a bar, a color TV and a VCR. Original price in the early '80s? About $63,000.

So they put a Monte Carlo nose on an ElDorado?!?
Nope, it was a custom extended nosepiece with hidden headlights.
Here's a shot of the rump.

Flame me if you want, but that rear end actually looks pretty good. The front, not so much.
It isn't near as bad as most aftermarket body kits, but the nose still bears a strong resemblance to a 1978 Monte Carlo.
You know what, I don't mind it. It looks pretty good to me.
I also lust over Lagondas, so take it with a grain of salt.
Thanks to Rusty, I know there was a Ford Explorer North Face. I want to say there was something similar with Columbia Sportswear for the GMC Jimmy (or it might've been the Blazer – they both got a couple of those special editions, although it might've been more at the dealer level).
