Last Call- Top Gear Car Porn Edition

Robert Emslie July 11, 2011 Last Call

If you caught Sunday’s Top Gear then you saw James May traverse the Nevada desert on his way to pick up what was supposed to be Cher, but turned out to be someone with a little more in the scrotal region than one might expect of that diva. Prior to that madcap finale however, Captain Slow came upon a pair of sand fleas that provided not just a path to freedom from the Death Valley dunes, but also one of the coolest shots of an episode that included a ballet between the new Maclaren MP4-12C and Ferrari 458 Italia.

Great episode, for sure. Vettel in the Liana, James in Death Valley, and the raison d'être for Hooniverse – why buy a cheap new car when you can get an older (but awesome-er) car for the same money? My wife even agreed that she'd rather have that big Merc than the Nissan. I didn't enlighten her as to the expected service costs.

in typical tog gear fashion, the bmw and the merc are over the top, but they showed there were a lot of far more sensible cars for the money. living in a country where the cheapest new car is 10k (of your dollars) of abs-less, power steering-less, chinesse little thing (cherry qq), i wish i had that many options for that money.

      by the way, great shot!!

I won't lie, I squealed with excitement when I saw Richard in the Bentley.

It was enjoyable, and I decided that if I had Veyron monies, I would get a MP4-12C fax machine, and blow the rest on Raptors.

I personally really wish they had taken the cheap car thing and done it as a full blown challenge, its an interesting enough idea. I would put money on James showing up in an Alfa or a Jag.

The segment on the Evoque was great, especially the twist (I won't give it up). And I've always thought that the 850Ci was cooler than the Mercedes.

And oh yeah, let's see if James still has hair at the end of the season.
