Happy Birthday, Jim Brennan!

Hooniverse Asks: Would Jim Approve?

Today is our very own Jim Brennan’s birthday! While he’s going through a bit of a rough patch in his non-Hooniverse world right now, and has been forced to take a bit of time away from our hallowed halls, he’s surely missed, and we’re fairly certain he’s still checking in from time to time. So let’s brighten his day a bit! Speaking for those of us behind the scenes, I know our thoughts are with him, and we wish him a very happy birthday!

Join in, and share your wishes below; let’s make this, his 273rd birthday, one to remember. Assuming he can remember anything at his age.

Happy Birthday Jim! 273rd? You don't look a day over 185!

  2. acarr260 says:

If Jim disapproves of that van, the next posting should be an announcement of his parting of ways with the Hooniverse.

    Happy birthday, Jim!

Happy Birthday Jim! Here's a picture of my favorite truck (of the 3 I've owned)

Sorry about the bike in the way.

    • Alff says:

Excellent choice. Looks a lot like my first "car" – a 1978 Ford Courier. Also, I'm digging your paver driveway. If mine wasn't so big and prone to icing, that's how I'd redo it.

    • Feds_II says:

A potential <pow!> for Alf. That is an '84 B2000, which is a courier, but with a Mazda motor instead of the Ford 2.3. Great, tough little truck, but not capable of handling the impending (and long since arrived) 2nd child.

The driveway was there when we bought the place. I love it in the spring before the weeds grow in, and I love it in the fall after they die. In the winter it gets icy, and in the summer it gets weedy. It was also never edged properly, so I have to do some digging and hammering this summer to get the edges back in line (literally).

I hope the Stinger's not going into LeMons. That would be a crying shame.

Happiest of birthdays, Jim! Your posts here rock. Here's to many more.

Jim and the other regular posters,

I don't know what's going on in your real lives but I think I speak for all the readers when I say we hope you get through it quickly and in one piece. We appreciate your labor of love that is the Hooniverse.

Also, leaving the keys to Hooniverse with longroofian on weekends is madness. MADNESS!

    Happy birthday, Jim!

I do know that UD is Nissan Diesel, so I present:
    <img src="http://files.myopera.com/mail-man/albums/3446592/nissan-diesel_bus_trailer_dc.JPG" width=350>

It symbolizes that seemingly unavoidable problems (jumping, loud elementary schoolchildren) can be overcome. Okay, that's a load of jibberish; I wish you well too!

Man, and I came here today specifically to track you down and grill you about what you knew about Grumman Stepvans. Oh well, it can wait, and I wish you the Best of Luck and even the Betterest of Birthdays!

  17. Happy Birthday Mr. Brennan! What would you prefer: A UD-powered Corvair, or a Corvair-engined UD? The Atomic Toasters crew would probably build* your choice, provided they could lay off the scotch long enough.

*by "build" I of course mean "assemble an arrangement of edited pixels"

  18. UDman says:

Man this is one big surprise. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank each and every one of you for making this place so special…. Thank You.

You made me the happiest 273 year old bastid on the planet….

  19. A slightly belated happy anniversary-of-ejection-day, from an unusually sunny United Kingdom.

    Good work fella!
