Caught in the Wild – The Chevy Volt
I saw my first free-range Chevy Volt last night. Still wearing its dealer plates as it cruised down the river once known as the 210 FWY, it may have been a recent sale, or perhaps it was on an extended test drive. Unlike with the Toyota Prius, there was no etherial glow of self satisfied smugness emanating from the driver, although the large video screen and white plastic center console did illuminate the cockpit to a disconcerting level. Hopefully there’s a brightness control in there somewhere.

It could have been Leno… he picked up one just the other day.
Interestingly enough, you have an option to dim the display on the Leaf. Do they not dim with headlights?
there was one parked across from my office on Huron Street in downtown Chicago two weeks ago.
Having fallen for the sweet songs of the VEGA , the X-Cars, 4-6-8- Cadillac, (and who can forget the wonderful Oldsmobile Diesel) that the motoring press served up in a banquet buffet of adulation….. I'll wait 2 or 3 years before taking a look.

I saw one about a month ago parked at a gas station in Roscommon, MI. I snapped a pic with my cell phone because I thought it was funny that it was parked at a gas pump. I will try and post pics…if I can figure out how.
Did it have a regular plate? I wonder if it's the same one I shot in Ann Arbor? I haven't got time to futz with the pics right now, maybe later.
It did have a regular plate, and the only reason that I remember that is because I specifically was looking for the obligatory "Manufacturer" plate that is either in MI, or NJ decor! It could've very well been the same car. I know that their weren't too many wandering around until just recently, so chances are pretty good.
Sadly, my phone does not have a memory card, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to Bluetooth them to my computer, so it is a bigtime photo fail.
I saw my first Juke last night. Fortunately, it was dark, so I didn't actually have to see it. I guess I'd better get used to 'em now.
I saw an ancient farmer get out of a Juke in a small town in Northern Ireland yesterday. It was a weird sight, to say the least.
i saw one in Vegas in mid August. Had MI manufacturer plates and a ton of computer testing junk on the inside. same color as this one
