Hooniverse Asks- What’s Your Favorite Scary Car?
Halloween is almost upon us, and that doesn’t just mean hobgoblins and ghosts, but scary movies and egging trick or treaters from your car. And if you choose to do that, you’ll need a ride befitting all hallows eve, what would be the best one for that duty?
Of course there’s lots to choose from from Hollywood and TV. Christine, the demonically possessed Plymouth Fury might seek you out, while the filthy 18 wheeler from Duel would simply hunt you down. Even the car from The Car would probably seek you out.
Other creepy cars would probably wait for your arrival – Kitt from Knightrider, for instance. Or maybe Tony Soprano’s SUV. Whatever the car, either movie or real, what Halloween calls for is one uber creepy ride, something that’ll really scar the crap out of the kids right before you hit them with the tiny samonella grenades.
What’s your favorite creepy car that you wish you could cruise in this halloween, and if you’re going to a party, what are you going as? All ladies must post pics of their costumes. Guys, I know you’re going as either Richard Petty or some sort of Star Wars character.

Scares the hell out of me right now.
But Phantom Corsair is an incredibly cool name. Only Vigilante Tomcat could have been better.
I've always been partial to it's stage name, the "Flying Wombat."
Not to be confused with a "Combat Wombat."

Oooo, nice! That's my idea of an elegant ride. What could we do to make it a triple 6?
I usually give these a really wide berth, especially the blacked out HIPO version… <img src=http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQkGv9m1qmZUyIFGb7MkgP7eDNZosBELwzJuafF2Wq5DX6H3eo&t=1&usg=__eAjmniCrEeG6C5BKQYzewh4A_rI= width=500>
Not so much for the car (which is nonetheless quite imposing), but more for the ghosts of its probable riders.

I'd give this a little more room on the highway and since it was predetermind that we are going as a Star Wars character.

The unknown baddies in the 1974 film Slither shadowed James Caan in a pair of Rectrans Adventurers. It might not look it too creepy in this picture, but they were painted flat black in the movie and looked pretty ominous.

A poorly maintained '83 Chevette, driven along Windsor's Huron Church Drive (part of the busiest border crossing in North America. Will it accelerate without stalling? If it stalls, leaving me in the path of a rampaging 18-wheeler, will I be vaporized on impact? Will it stop? Will it poison me with gases?

Alternate: My 75 Eldorado convertible jumped out of park when the engine was running and I was outside the car. It built up a fair amount of speed before I was able to wrestle it to a halt. It ran me over in the process, and I was hospitalized for two and a half weeks, and unable to walk for another two months after that.
While I was convelescing, I watched a lot of TV, including three showings of Christine. Somebody asked me if I was going to crush the car after I got better, but now I'm afraid of it coming back to finish me off.
Seems pleasant enough…
