Hi, I’m a 510 and I hoon
I spent Saturday out at Miller Motorsports Park with a dear friend, walking through the parking lot pit area and watching Porsches from all walks of life race. More on that later, as there was one car in particular that caught my eye…
I won’t bore you with words and things of that nature. Just wanted to share photos of an ultra-clean, all show and all go 510. Enjoy!
And in case you were wondering…
My only regret is not having my camera ready on the previous lap when the little Datsun-that-could was leading a pack of fire-breathing Porsches into the final stretch.

No, not wrong at all. I thought much the same. The rest of them would be fun to own but lack the character of the 510. Just the thumbs up from fellow Hoon's is enough to want one. Not that the Porsches are bad….its just they are common.
Common Porsche, geesh, never thought I could say that with a straight face.
That little 510 got more attention from me than everything else, though there were alot of awesome classic and new Porsches and even a damned Panamera on the track.
Go to Cars and Coffee Irvine a few times and you'll be numb to any Porsche shy of an LS2 swapped 911 or 917.
That's not wrong at all. But I'd have trouble choosing between the 510 and the M-Coupe next to it.

Can anyone tell me where those seats came from? I feel like I should know it and it's driving me nuts.
They look like reupholstered Recaro's.
I think you're right. Fairly old ones, too, maybe.
They look like the Recaros in my E21.
They look like the Recaros in my 88 E30 except mine have a 4" adjustable pad at the forwardmost part of the bench. Comfy as all getout though. And, Yeah, I'd hoon that gorgeous 510 over that Porsche any day of the week and all weekend.
Too bad that Porsche ruins the first two pics. They'd be great desktop wallpaper material.
So, how many 510's are there in Utah? It seems as though there are more Utah than Texas.
Off the top of my head, mine and that one. Seen a few in the classifieds but I can't remember the last time I saw one in the wild.
There seems to be alot up in the Pacific NW though.
What mirrors are those, from E30? A bit too big maybe. Also, ugly overstyled steering wheel is ugly. Otherwise perfectly nice little rocket.

I am leaning towards a full resto with some mild performance goodies at this point, however some time at the track would be fun.
Keep in mind the steering wheel is upside down; flat to the bottom, like it should be.
Those seats look like the Recaro's in a 1978 to mid 80's VW, like my Scirocco was.
