As I was browsing BaT (anyone else think the “T” should stand for tissue?) this morning I came across a link for Makela Auto Tuning and wandered in. Needless to say, I got stuck in their “projects” section. There are other notable Group B projects including a 1982 Audi Quattro A2 and a 1984 Toyota Celica Turbo, but it’s the S4 previously driven by Miki Biasion that caught my eye. The engine in question is a 1759 cc, 4 cylinder, DOHC, twincharged Tasmanian Devil on crack, meth and steroids.

Damn, if I kept going I might've guessed. When I looked at it I thought Group B, but after seeing the different R5, RS200 and 037 engines I gave up. A tip of the car-fu to you!

I'm ashamed to say I didn't know these were mid-engined. I love production based racing and Group-B as a whole, but on the other hand, I love prototypes. I guess it irks me when one is disguised as the other. Color me a Stradale man, then.

Does anyone here know anything about the suspension on these cars? The rear springs are clearly variable-rate coils, but in the last picture it looks like they're coil bound with no load other than the weight of the stationary car (static load?).
