If you are anywhere near New York City then you should head over to the Museum of the City of New York. A new exhibition entitled Cars, Culture, and the City gets underway and features images, video, models, and tons of memorabilia about our favorite subject and it’s relationship to the large fruit/muggersville/that place south of Boston the big apple.

As we said, the exhibition starts on the 25th, but there are other attractions happening throughout the run:

I always find it interesting how "The City" implies NYC to New Yorkers, and San Francisco to northern Californians…
I live in Southern California.. and to me The City is still Boston.
You need to rectify that, immediately.

I agree completely. My prep school (The Thacher School, in Ojai) had many pupils from old — and in some cases, new — San Francisco moneyed families. SF (Ess-Eff) was the only acceptable alternate abbreviation to "the City" in that crowd, circa 1980.
Means KCMO to me, but I don't get out much.
I was born in The City, and I mean New York. Yeah, I can see how the same thing applies to San Francisco, that's another real city. Fun trivia fact: I was born two blocks away from this edifice. I'd love to see this exhibition. Hell, I haven't been back to The City in years, I'd love to go back for any occasion.
The Speed and Glamor exhibit intrigues me. Too bad I'm in Detroit. We have our own kind of glamor.
Detroit Glamor immediately conjures up images from the Derelicte show from Zoolander.

Lucky bastard. I live in the sticks nowadays, but I love New York. Give my regards to Yorkville, have a drink for me at Fitzgeralds, at 85th and Second. Then at Ryan's Daughter, up the street from there.
It's cool and all but the major downside is that I miss driving and working on my cars
Why what do you know? No, I will not be going to family receptions, doing homework, or anything of that nature that involves the words scheduled or responsibility on the days of March 27th, April 17th, and questionably April 20th (damn you to hell, chemistry lab)!
Yesssss!!!! I'm going to be in NYC at the end of March. This will make up for all the bands that I can't see because they're all at SXSW.
