I cannot lie, the first two articles about these scary awesome forward control 4×4s had me enthralled as I had never seen nor heard of one. There is just something about them that makes me want to throw on some boots and a heavy flannel jacket, toss my chainsaw in the back and disappear into the wilderness for a few months.
And the third installment of our FC150/170 obsession appears to be the cleanest so far. According to the seller, in the last 15 years it has had quite alot of parts rebuilt/replaced and has the documents to back it up.
This is the kind of thing every hoon needs for parts fetchin’ in the summer, deer gettin’ in the fall and all-out hoonin in the winter.

I saw this earlier today on BaT and nearly soiled myself. These are seriously rad and I would totally rock one as a parts truck if/when I get a project car.

Actually saw one for sale right down the road from me about a year ago. It had a Chevy small block conversion. It was gone before I could get pictures.

Why does it look like the track width is like a foot shorter than the width of the body?
the wheels are turned. look closely at the driver's side.
Actually, I did some research. The track looks narrow because FCs had narrow tracks.

I would reverse everything and make it drive with the bed in front. Such a cool little truck.
Just don't carry any tall loads.
I've always loved the looks of these little FC Jeeps. With the low bed, it would be great for going out to the hills and hauling wood to my shop. It might be a bit scary on the freeway though.
Scary as hell on the freeway. These are built on the same frame as the contemporary CJ's, which mean that they have the same F-head four cylinder, good for maybe 45 MPH on a good day. However, these are made for the rough, where hauling wood is where this little jewel would shine above hauling ass.
I agree, I'd love one of these. One of the funkiest and rarest Jeeps ever. Still, it's a Jeep and will go wherever you need, but slowly.
This is my old Jeep… sitting dormant in the barn for now.
