This is certainly not a “true” Porsche. While the lines of this Fiberfab Aztec kit have a decent mid-60s supercar look and the feasibility of scary-fast VWs is well known, we’re still doubtful you’d ever have a car that wouldn’t be laughed at as soon as your opened the gullwing doors or tilt-back hatch. But then again, maybe that’s the challenge. Despite the Mesoamerican name and paintjob, all we can think of when we see that oil cooler intake scoop thing are The Snorks.

Aaaand, in searching for that Snorks link we ran smack into Rule 34 the Internet. Seriously, there some strange people out there.

On eBay motors, naturally.

I like the FiberFab Aztec. I’ve lusted after a FiberFab Aztec.

This, sir, is no FiberFab Aztec.

  4. Did you know if you re-arrange the letters in The Snorks, you can spell Rest Honks?

I want to stick a giant hook in it and use it as bass bait. Yikes I'm rather disturbed, on a few levels.

  6. Looks like the low self-esteem Ninja Turtle's car. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo,

  8. The car was shown on something called Fast Inc on MTV, and my brain went right to fastink.

  9. Alff says:

I'll bet that paint job is top notch … go to the ad and check out the state of the art paint booth. I'd also bet you'll spend at least as much sourcing the missing glass as you do on the vehicle.

  10. Rule No. 1: Cars named "Aztec" are ugly. Rule No. 2: You cannot get around Rule No. 1 by misspelling "Aztec."

  11. dmilligan says:

I'm pretty sure that I used to have a Hot Wheels car that looked just like that thing. As I remember, it was a real piece of shit car too. I think all that ugly really screws up the handling.

  12. engineerd says:

Back when this car was new the owner really only had to worry about what his neighbors and townpeople thought of his paint job. It was the '70s and he didn't have much to worry about. There was some really weird shit going down in Las Vegas at that time.

He never imagined the internet would come along and put this up for the world to make fun of. Luckily, it did. Because today has been a strange day and poking fun at other people's oddities is making me feel better.
