The 2009 Best of France & Italy car show was held last Sunday, with picture postcard weather, and a large crowd, proving that there’s a lot of Latin lovers in the City of Angels. And there was something for everyone there- from a car nicknamed after a little mouse, to one that could have carried a lucky elephant.

Dinos, all in a row
Spread across the verdant expanse of Van Nuys’ Woodley Park were more Citroëns than you could shake a mime at, and a greater number of Fiats than Tony could fix-again in a single day. Overall, there were nearly 400 cars on display.

Gordini!
Of course Hooniverse was there there, as were some of the hoons from AutoBlog, and we all went around trying to out-do one another with our mad car-trivia skills.
For your viewing pleasure, we’ve put together a super-sized, mega-embiggened gallery of the best of the hoontastic rides that made it to the show. It’s a little bit of everything, as that’s what the show provided- from mice to elephants. You can even do a Where’s Waldo and see if you can find Jay Leno in one of the pics, as he was in attendance.
So, check out the gallery below, and if it warms your brie, or presses your pasta, plan on attending the show next year!

(sigh)……someday.
BTW; the Fiat 130 coupe was for sale for $8,700. That included two more engines, and a pair of extra transmissions.
Isn't that Jay driving his beautiful '37 Bugatti Type 57S Atlantic? God, that's a beautiful car. Pretty much the best car ever, in my opinion.
What an awesome show. I wish we had something like that here. I guess next year I'll have to make sure I make it to the Meadowbrook Concours.
I still prefer the one rumored (I said rumored) to be the inspiration for the Atlantic: the 540K Autobahnkurier..
Now THIS is a frickin mega-gallery! HOLY MOLY!! Thanks for sharing, wish I could be there!!
Awesome Pics men!
Holy hell that's a lot of images! PAH!
I really wanted to get some homework done, and now, now I have to spend my time looking for Citroens. Thanks guys.
Ah, the Fiat Dino. I'm sure it's a fantastic car… but in my mind it exists solely as a donor vehicle for engines to put in Lancia Stratos replicars.
I see no photos of Jozwik (well, possibly one…), Charles_Barrett, Charles'_Randy, Jonny Loverman, or, more importantly, of Knuckles!
This must be remedied immediately.
But then I'd have to take back my comment on what good taste the photographers had.
there is another, mildly less stupid looking photo of me…

nothing of the rest of them riff-raff. came to take pictures of cars, not a bunch of dorks obsessed by them.
Are you trying to figure out if the little Fiat will fit in your pocket?
Is that a Fiat in your pocket, or were you just at an Italian car show?
As someone of French descent whose first car ride was in a Peugeot, my first inclination on seeing this post was to say something condescending about the Italians and their cars.
Then I looked at all the pictures, and all my Gallic disdain melted… Damn it, I really, really want that Lancia Flaminia convertible.
As a person who was stationed in Italy while in the military, I was going to say something snide about the French cars.
But, there are some real fine rides here. I don't know what it actually was, but it looked like a Le Car rally beast. Want one.
